Week 9

Moar meetings please
March 1, 2020

๐ŸŽง Not a lot of music listening this week. Mainly Caribou's new album I'm listening to as I'm writing this on a Sunday night.

๐Ÿ“– Finished Why Are We Yelling. If I was into stars I'd give 3/5. The central premise is about being mindful of your reactions to things you disagree with, then invite people to discuss conflicting points of view. This is great. But what if the other person is a Nazi? Or someone who hates women? Or POC? There's some points of view I won't entertain.

๐ŸŽง Listened to This is HCD with Lisa Welchmann about digital governance. Starting to think agile at scale in any framework is a crock of shit. Officially now.

๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿฝ no exercise this week. The head cold from last week developed and I felt rotten. But the lack of exercise meant I did my back in ๐Ÿ˜”

๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ one morning of meditation. Monday - Wednesday was back to back meetings so I felt frazzled and wound up.

๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ‘ˆ goals this week:

  1. get login mapped ๐Ÿ™ƒ (sort of)
  2. think about co-operates login journey โœ…
  3. set up team for next steps on evo design ๐Ÿ™ƒ

๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ‘‰ goals next week:

  1. digitise co-operates maps
  2. 1 set of objectives (mine or direct) agreed
  3. think about causes in evo trial

๐ŸŒช INSANE week. Monday through to Wednesday was back to back meetings. Mainly tough talking 1:1s. The other meetings started off well: setting intentions with Joel and discovering Interesting Things. Dipped on Tuesday after a failed, almost pointless workshop. Then picked up a little on Wednesday when I got more info about the Interesting Things. But then flatlined after talking about IR35 ๐Ÿ’€

๐Ÿšถ now the digital teams are spread over Fed and Angel Square I really need to think about grouping meetings. Mind you, I do get a lot of steps in!

๐Ÿ—บ thursday eased off a little and I mapped Co-operates login journey with the team and it was ACE. Mapping is my happy place. It led to more conversations about what we could do and it ultimately helped them articulate what they were after. Everyone was super excited at the end of the session.

๐Ÿ’ผ ย had two pre-meetings with agencies that are looking to win some work off of us. It was fun reminiscing when I was that side of the fence - chasing contracts and winning picthes. Almost got me misty eyed. I don't remember being that hard of a seller though ๐Ÿ™ƒ

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ short week to spend time with the family on Friday, which was lovely ๐Ÿฅฐ
